Prior to 1988, the standard trailer connector was a 6-pin unit, with some 5-pin plug/sockets found in Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia, and the Northern Territory. Post-1988 regulations require a minimum of a 7-pin connector for the registration of boats, camper trailers, and similar vehicles. In certain cases, a larger connector may be necessary; it is advisable to consult an auto electrician for guidance.
All trailer plugs and adaptors are manufactured from premium materials. The socket is installed on the vehicle, while the plug is attached to the trailer. It is common to encounter compatibility issues when borrowing a trailer, which can be resolved with our trailer plug adaptor leads. These adaptors are approximately 30cm in length and are available in six versions to accommodate any mismatch among the 7 Pin Flat, 7 Pin Large Round, and 7 Pin Small Round trailer connectors.
Please ensure the plug end of the adaptor matches the socket on your vehicle, and the socket end aligns with the plug on your trailer.
