PP0638 is a method for connecting coax cables by stripping back 12mm of the outer sheath, folding the braid/foil back, and trimming 8mm of the insulation from the centre conductor. The knurled connector is then screwed onto the cable until enough centre conductor is exposed, with the foam insulation helping to center it. Any surplus braid and foil can be trimmed beforehand. Heatshrink can be used for a neat finish. Only a small amount of braid is needed for a good electrical connection.
