The RL6430 is an electrolytic capacitor with leakage characteristics similar to tantalum capacitors and a lower price. It has a high capacitance due to its use of electrolyte, however, it is polarized and requires a higher voltage on the positive terminal. It is commonly used as a filter in various power supplies to decrease voltage ripple and smooth input and output as a low pass filter.
